Okay this one isn’t as close as the last one, but still fun to see the similarity.

Hey, you know I’m not nocturnal, right?

Can someone let my kids know? Wow. Last night was c-r-a-z-y. Both kids are still sick with their respective yicks. Miles could not stay awake long enough to get a full belly last night, but did not want to lay down in his bed. So he was up about every 1 1/2-2 hours and would be up for about an hour each time. Lydia was up about 5-6 times throughout the night, and don’t think she was up when Miles was up either! We did go to the doctor yesterday and Lydia supposedly has allergies, and Miles supposedly has a cold. I think they all (Robert included) have the same thing. I don’t know why they’re always so determined that Lydia has allergies. They said she looks “pale”. Yeah, she always looks that way, it’s hereditary. Have you noticed the pasty white lady that is bringing her to the doctor? Yeah, I’m her mom, nice to meet you. So anyway, Lydia is taking Claritin, and the nose is still leaking profusely. Miles is still getting his suction/saline numerous times throughout the day. He really, really hates it. He flips his lip down and does this pathetic little cry. It is very sad, but still very cute.

We didn’t let prolific snot or sleep deprivation keep us from going out today, though. After a failed attempt at a nap (me) and a few cups of joe (me again) we headed out to the mall. It was about 40 here today with a 15-25mph North wind, which equals darn cold. So we walked the mall and Lydia shared the love with lots and lots of kids at the mall play area.
Miles is doing very well on his reflux medicine. He has been feeling a lot better. I got a great sling, and he LOVES to be carried around in it. I love it because it is very compact and makes it very easy for Lydia and I to do things together. I think that his personality might be like his daddy’s. Lydia, on the other hand, is her mother’s child, and doesn’t shut her mouth. Ever. Thankfully she is darn funny (doesn’t get that from me), and keeps me laughing a lot of the time.
I don’t have any new pictures of Lydia, but here are a few of Miles. I don’t know what it is about putting my kids’ hair into mohawks, but I find it super entertaining.

The Yicks

Our family, minus me (today at least) has the yicks. Lydia started the trend late last week with a disgusting runny nose. She was running a low grade fever on Friday, but I gave her some ibuprofen and it hasn’t come back up. It has now moved into her chest and she is just a real piece of work. She hasn’t slowed down a bit though, she just sounds awful. Robert woke up with a sore throat yesterday and was running a low grade fever by the afternoon. He is still feeling kind of rotten and says that it has moved down into his chest now too. He has resorted to medication, which never happens. Miles has been fussy and has actually started a little bit of a runny nose. I have been spraying his nose with saline spray before he nurses, but he has been just getting upset when he nurses because of the nose I presume, so I will probably just give him bottles for the next day or two so I know he’s getting enough fluids. He’s sleeping a lot, and just wants to be cuddled in a blanket. I don’t think he has a fever, but I’m checking frequently to see if he is feeling warm. I have been taking a lot of airborne and saying prayers. I would appreciate your prayers too, if I get sick it will be bad…

In other news, our 42 inch LCD tv arrived yesterday. It was Robert’s and my gift to each other for Christmas. It is huge. I didn’t realize it would be as big as it is. Unfortunately, we didn’t have anywhere to put a tv that big, so our armoire was moved into the dining room/converted playroom, and our kitchen table moved into the living room as a temporary tv stand (ghetto…). Our dining table (too big for the kitchen) has been moved into the kitchen. We bought our first nice piece of furniture yesterday, a tv stand. It should arrive in 4-12 weeks.

Winter in Texas, as it should be

Today it got up to around 60, and the sun was out. It was fantastic. We spent the morning doing stuff around the house (although you would never know it by looking at this house right now), and after naps we ate lunch and went to the park about 3/4 of a mile from our house. We took the double stroller, which I really love. It was just awesome to get out and walk and get some fresh air!
I also caught Miles with a sleep smile last night. Bad picture, but still cute.

Lydia has started saying “carry you” when she wants to be held.

Who does she look like? I say Hope around the eyes, Andy through the mouth. But I can’t tell. She looks just like both of them to me. Congrats Hope and Andy!

Thanks to Marie and Bob for the pictures!

Still no pictures…

But I had to post a little update before I forget…

I took Miles to the doctor yesterday and he has reflux. We have a prescription for Prevacid, so hopefully in the next few days he’ll start feeling better. He was 9lbs 5oz at the appointment!

Maybe more pictures son.

An exciting day!

Christy and Shawn welcomed Parker Damon into the world this afternoon. He was 8lbs 4oz. I got to meet him this evening, he is beautiful, and of course I forgot to snap a picture! Miles can’t wait to meet his new best friend. :)

In other news, Hope and Andy welcomed THEIR little girl (our niece), Savannah Grace into the world this evening. We hear that she was 8 lbs and 21 inches (a bruiser, considering how tiny Hope is!), and are waiting to hear more from the source.

Hooray for babies!
