This picture shows his poor bruised face.
Lydia and Bri share some “gugets”
Lydia checking out her new brother.
Thanks everyone for the emails! We are excited, and Miles is doing great this afternoon. They did say that because of the bruising he is more prone to jaundice. GREAT! At least we’ve been down that road.

Miles Henry arrived this morning at 8:50. He is 7lbs 13 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. He has lots of golden blonde/brown hair, and is doing great. The delivery was about as easy as one could hope for. I went in last night for the induction at 10. They gave me the cervical softener around 10:30, and hooked me up to the monitors. I started having a contraction about every 30 minutes, but was still only about 2cm dilated. They came in around 3am and gave me another dose, and at that point I was 3cm. My water broke on it’s own about 3:30 and I started having more regular contractions, they were within 3-5 minutes apart. I had a dose of nubain about 3:30, which helped a little, but by the time it wore off I was ready for something stronger. They came around 5 with an epidural because the anesthesiologist was getting ready to go to a c-section and wouldn’t be available for a while. I was able to sleep for a little while and woke up around 6:30 and called Robert and mom to see what was going on. The doctor came in around 7:30 and told me I was 8-9cm dilated and 100% effaced. The baby was at +1 station as well +3 means he’s crowning, and -3 means he’s still floating. He had to go do a hysterectomy, but said it would only take about 45 minutes, so he told me to sit tight and not push. Robert arrived soon after and I was able to wash my face, brush my teeth and hair and put on some makeup before we started pushing. His head was out with the first contraction, and he was born with the second! Amazing! We are thrilled, and Lydia is en route to meet her new brother right now. I will post pictures soon!

Here are some pictures from the last few days. Baby received a NCSU jersey from the Elliott family this past week, and Lydia loved it. Since it was a 2T we let her try it out.
We fixed our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. Lydia really wasn’t interested in anything more than making funny faces at the camera. She’s full of those lately. I also think this shirt makes me look rhinocerosy than I actually am… I am not just saying that! I promise!!!!!
Here are a few from Christmas morning. The first thing she opened was a book, and she had Robert read her the entire book. Santa brought her some oreo cookies, which she tried out, along with other sweet goodies from her stocking, turning her mouth black…
Yesterday, Lydia was getting protective of her food again when I told her Christy and Gray were coming over…

Everything was fine at my dr. appt this morning – I was a little worried about pre-eclampsia, so they moved my appt. up a day. Fortunately (I guess?) the dr. looked at me like I’m a little crazy when I brought it up. I am fine, baby is fine. I have not dilated or effaced at all in the last week, which is kind of disappointing since I’ve been having some decent contractions. I was kind of hoping I had dilated a little more! We’ll go in as scheduled for the induction process. My family will arrive tomorrow afternoon, so tonight is our last night at home as a family of 3. Bittersweet.
I will get some Christmas pictures up one of these days.

Gray and Christy came over today for a playdate. We had a great time, as always. Christy and I are both about to pop. She has a little less than a month left and I have about a week. Unbelievable. Here are some pictures from today’s fun.
Here’s a link to some video Christy uploaded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkkzSJweaeU

Daddy got to come home early, so now he and Lydia are watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, which came on last night. Robert wants to put some antlers and a red nose on Prancer.
