Hard to believe our vacation is nearing a close! We’ve had nice weather for the last two days. Lydia really enjoyed the sand on Wednesday. Yesterday Robert played golf with his dad and luckily, the humidity was pretty cool. We didn’t get out to the beach yesterday because of Lydia’s wacky nap schedule, but we were able to sit out on the deck and hang out for a few hours. Last night we visited with Shane and Melissa and got to see their great new house in Hampstead. It was so great of them to invite us over!

Here are the latest pictures.

We supposedly dodged the bullet yesterday and didn’t have any rain. However, today we haven’t been so lucky and it has been raining all day. Lydia has been trying to keep herself entertained inside, and has done pretty well so far. Bob and Marie are her and have been playing with her pretty much all morning. She’s playing with her baby now in a baby bed made out of a Corona box. It’s working out beautifully.

This weekend Lindsay came to visit, and we had two days of decent weather. We were out on the beach a little bit. Lydia got her toenails painted for the first time.

Here are some of the newest pictures.

We’ve been here a week already?

It’s hard to believe we’ve already been here a week. We went out to dinner last night as a family, and had some seafood. It was the first time Robert had been out since we got here! Lydia is starting to catch a little bit of a cold, but she’s been very happy (although not sleeping at all – I am exhausted!). I can’t complain though because there has been virtually no whining for the last 24 hours! Lindsay is coming to visit today, and to spend the night tonight. Tomorrow Bob and Marie will join us for the rest of our time here. Robert is excited because he’ll get to play a round of golf later on in the week with his dad and some of his coworkers. The weather is supposed to go downhill tomorrow or Monday, but we have been really lucky so far with so much sunshine and nice ocean breezes. No complaints!

Here are some pictures from yesterday’s trek to the beach.

We were so excited that Dylan, Evan and Mandy came to visit us today! We got out to the beach right as the clouds were rolling in, but we were still able to enjoy the beach for a little while. Lydia sort of liked the water, but DOES NOT like the sand – doesn’t like to play in it really, and doesn’t really like to even stand in it. Tonight Lydia and Dylan played ring around the rosie over and over again. We cooked out this evening and are now waiting to see how long the kids will stay up (and praying that Lydia will sleep past 5:30 tomorrow!). Lydia seems to LOVE Evan, the baby, which is GREAT news!

Today we took it easy and just napped. Lydia definitely needed some serious napping, she has been exhausted for two straight days. This afternoon we drove through N. Topsail, and saw all of the destruction caused by recent hurricanes. It was really shocking. We also said farewell today to my parents and sister. We’re looking forward to Mandy, Dylan and Evan coming to visit tomorrow! This evening we took a stroll on the beach and snapped a few pictures.

I also have to post this absolutely amazing picture: Robert reading. He has been reading since we got here. Phil gave him this book at his wedding in April 2002, and he is *finally* reading it. He actually sort of likes it too! Wonders never cease!!!!
